12th June- Backing the Chancellor’s Spending Review for Ipswich

Yesterday, I warmly welcomed the Chancellor’s Spending Review and what it means for Ipswich.

This is a major boost for our town. From health and education to policing and infrastructure, the extra investment will strengthen the public services we all rely on and help lay the foundations for a stronger, fairer economy.

Importantly, it will also get Britain building again, with funding for new social and affordable homes as well as vital infrastructure projects that have been long overdue.

For Ipswich, the benefits are clear. I was proud to highlight how our Free School Meal expansion will support around 6,500 children across our town, helping to tackle child poverty and ensure every young person gets the best possible start in life.

And with further investment in Sizewell C, we are creating secure, skilled and well paid jobs for local people, supporting our long term ambition to be at the forefront of Britain’s clean energy future.

This Spending Review will make a real difference to our community, and I will keep working hard to make sure Ipswich gets the funding, the attention and the ambition it deserves.
