15th August- Jack Abbott Attends VJ Day service held in Christchurch Park in Ipswich

It was an honour to attend the VJ Day service in Christchurch Park to mark 80 years since Victory over Japan.

Hundreds gathered at the war memorial to pay their respects — including veterans, families, and community leaders. The service was a moving tribute to those who served in Asia during the Second World War, and to the many who never returned home.

Wreaths were laid, the Last Post played, and a minute’s silence observed.

We must always remember the sacrifices made by generations past, and continue to honour those who serve today to keep us safe and free.
