It was such a pleasure to join the Ipswich Central Kumon Centre for their awards ceremony yesterday. School visits and events like this are genuinely the best part of my job - the positivity is always infectious and inspiring.

Education is something I am passionate about. I loved being a teaching assistant and, while life took me in a different direction, I threw myself into campaigning for better provision and opportunities for children and young peo

ple, first as a county councillor and now as an MP.

A good education opens so many doors, and I want barriers removed so all children can reach their potential. The community Kumon have created is a special one, with these dedicated children enthusiastically supported by their families and instructors (discipline, patience and focus were words that came up a lot).

Congratulations to the students who are making such incredible progress. You deserve this recognition for your hard work.
