On 17th December, the Government announced an overhaul of Britain's broken planning system. Such is the scale of Britain's housing crisis- with a whole generation frozen out of the housing market- and the lethargy of Britain's economic growth over the past 14 years, that it is clear that bold and decisive action is needed.
That is why the Government announced an overhaul of the planning system and new, more ambitious housing targets for Ipswich, to realise our national ambition of delivering 1.5 million homes over the next five years.
This comes alongside new protections for renters and the acceleration of the work needed to tackle the building safety crisis, both of which I have taken a long-standing interest in.
These measures will be truly transformational, boosting economic growth, and ensuring that home ownership isn't just a dream for so many.
