17th January – Jack Abbott MP welcomes the opening of new Ipswich ambulance hub

On the 17th of January, I was delighted to join the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) for a steel signing ceremony at their new hub in Ransomes Europark.

The hub, costing £12.81 million and scheduled to open in September of this year, will serve as a base for 100 staff. It will also house a 24/7 'make ready' and workshop service. This will allow for better and more effective service, helping to slash local ambulance waiting times with more vehicles on the road. It will also provide state-of-the-art space for the cleaning and restocking of vehicles.

My thanks go to Neill and all the team at EEAST for showing me around the site. I look forward to returning to see the finished facility later this year!
