I’m proud that Great British Energy will save local NHS services — including Ipswich’s new ambulance hub and The Hollies — over £527,000 through new solar panel installations.

Cutting energy bills frees up vital resources for patient care, while also tackling climate change. Over the next 30 years, these two sites are expected to save approximately £17,600 per year, money that will be reinvested directly into frontline services and staff support.

This is a real win for Ipswich families, local services, and the environment — showing how clean energy investment can make a tangible difference for people living and working here.

The programme is part of the £180 million Great British Energy solar scheme, which supports hospitals and schools across England, helping create a more sustainable and cost-efficient NHS.
