It was great having Armed Forces Minister, Al Carns MP, back in Ipswich last week.

Al is part of Labour's Defence team which has delivered:

- the largest sustained increase in core defence funding since the Cold War, £5 billion increase in the defence budget this year

- the biggest pay rise for service personnel in over 20 years

- £9 billion to upgrade Armed Forces' family housing after years of neglect, and bringing 36,000 military homes back into public ownership

- VALOUR, a new national programme designed to make it easier for veterans across the UK to access the care and support they deserve

- the first-ever independent Armed Forces Commissioner to act as a voice for personnel and their families

9th May - Statement on Local Elections

There's no getting away from it, this was a tough election for the Labour Party across the country. In Ipswich, we took the fight to Reform and won a number of areas convincingly. Huge congratulatio
