On Monday, I attended the Suffolk FutureSkills Fair which welcomed over 3,000 pupils from across Ipswich and Suffolk to explore career opportunities, meet employers and discover new skills.

This is the biggest careers fair for young people in our county and it could be a life-changing moment for many of them, as they come away inspired by the people and organisation they met.

A huge thank you to all the businesses and organisations or showcasing the amazing array of possibilities our doorstep. As I said to them afterwards, it is not enough to simply talk about recognising the ambitions of young people, we have to deliver the pathways they need through training, skills and opportunities too. Those businesses and organisations really are putting their money where their mouth is by putting such time, effort and resource into days like this.

Lastly, a massive thank you to Suffolk New College for hosting such a wonderful event. It was a tremendous success.

Let's go even bigger and better next year!
