28th August- Jack Abbott Welcomes 100 new SEND places in Suffolk

It’s really welcome news that the Government has approved over 100 new SEND places across Suffolk.

This includes a new 24-place unit at Ipswich Academy, which will be a huge boost for families in our town. We know how urgently more specialist places are needed, so this is a very positive step forward.

Across the county, there are further improvements too. The Bridge School will be expanding onto the Bramford Lane site, increasing its capacity to 20 places. Warren School will add up to 55 more places, alongside a new satellite site, while West Row Academy near Mildenhall and Burton End Primary Academy in Haverhill will each gain 12 new places. Clements Primary Academy, also in Haverhill, will add 8 more.

While there is still much more to do to fix our SEND system, these new places will make a real difference for children and families right across Suffolk.

I’ll keep working with parents, schools, and local leaders to make sure every child gets the support they need and deserve.

9th May - Statement on Local Elections

There's no getting away from it, this was a tough election for the Labour Party across the country. In Ipswich, we took the fight to Reform and won a number of areas convincingly. Huge congratulatio
