8th July- Jack Abbott Welcomes Government Funding Major A12 Upgrades for Suffolk

This is a really significant announcement for Ipswich, Felixstowe and Suffolk.

The Government has confirmed funding for major upgrades to the A12 through the Major Road Network programme — a critical step forward for our region.

The traffic chaos we have seen in recent weeks has brought into sharp focus the cost of inaction. After years of being ignored by the previous Conservative Government, we urgently needed a change in approach.

This investment will help ease congestion at one of our area’s most notorious pinch points, but it goes far beyond that. These upgrades will strengthen the infrastructure we need to protect jobs, grow our economy and secure long term investment in our county.

I pledged leadership and ambition for Ipswich and Suffolk, and with the support of our Labour Government, I am proud to be delivering on that promise.

After years of false dawns and broken promises, this is real progress — and we are only just getting started.
