Public transport is vital, and today brings fantastic news for communities across Suffolk.
Thanks to new, multi-million-pound Government funding, Suffolk is set to see the biggest improvements to bus services since 1998.
This is a real win for Ipswich residents, with a range of new and upgraded services on the way. Routes will be expanded, frequencies increased, and — for the first time in many years — more buses will run on Sundays.
Backed by £2.8 million from the Local Authority Bus Grant, this investment is already making a difference, with a replacement for the axed Marham Park Flyer now up and running.
Better buses mean better access to jobs, education, and essential services — and they’re key to building a greener, more connected future for our county.
After years of decline and underinvestment, this is a genuine step change.
With strong leadership and a Government that believes in public transport, we are finally delivering for Suffolk — and this is just the beginning.
